$53 Million for Fish

Bloomberg Philanthropies recently announced its Vibrant Oceans Initiative, a $53 million, 5-year effort to boost fish populations in Brazil, the Philippines, and Chile, a reform which will revitalize 7% of the world’s fisheries. In this episode of World Ocean Radio, host Peter Neill will describe the initiative according to the Foundation’s website, and will counter that while the project is groundbreaking in scale, concept, strategy, and funding, it is perhaps too broad-based an approach to reform between big business, local fishers, government and the organizations selected to implement the outcomes.
